WHEN: The clinic begins Tuesday, September 14 and runs through
Thursday, October 28. Practices will be Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
5-6 Group: All participants MUST be 5 years of
age, have prior swim team experience, and be able to swim 25 yards freestyle and
backstroke.
7 and Up: All participants MUST have prior swim team experience
and be able to swim 25 yards of all 4 strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke,
and freestyle).
EQUIPMENT
ALL PARTICIPANTS NEED TO BRING RUBBER SWIM FINS. GOGGLES AND SWIM
CAPS ARE RECOMMENDED.
EMPHASIS This
clinic is designed for summer recreational swimmers who would like to (1) continue
swimming into the fall season, (2) focus on improving their technique, and (3) experience
USA Swimming.
COACHES
The clinic will be directed by Chris Breitbart and coached primarily
by Tracy Battistessa and Jim Black. Chris is the Head Coach of Sierra College ’s
Men’s Swimming and Water Polo Teams and the Rocklin Aquatic Masters Swim Team (RAMS).
Tracy also coaches the RAMS and is the coach of the Wolverine’s “W” and “A+” Groups.
She will be coaching the clinic’s 5-6 Group. Jim is currently the Assistant Coach
of the Wolverine’s ‘C” Group and the Assistant Coach for the Men’s Swim Team at
Sierra College . He will be coaching the 7 and Ups.
SWIM MEETS/COMPETITION
All clinic participants will be USAS registered and eligible to
compete in the USAS sanctioned meets. There is approximately one local USAS sanctioned
meet per month that the team will train for and swimmers will be encouraged to enter.
Meet participants are responsible for all meet fees, travel costs, and arrangements.
WAC coaches will attend all swim meets on the Team Calendar; however, USAS swim
meets are not part of the Sierra College Community Education program.
REGISTRATION
The clinic fee is $150. Register with Sierra College Community
Education by September 3, either in person or by mail. Community Education is located
at 333 Sunrise Avenue, Suite 300 , Roseville , CA 95661 . Please make checks payable
to Sierra College or use MasterCard or VISA.
REGISTRATION FORMS
All participants must complete the following: (1)
Sierra College Community Education/WAC Registration Form (PDF, 70k), (2)
Sierra College/WAC Release of Liability/Health Form (PDF, 24k), and (3)
USA Swimming Membership Application (if applicable). USAS membership is a separate
fee of $70.50 (payable to WAC). Membership is valid through December 31, 2011. Please
bring USAS card to the Parent Meeting if your swimmer is already USAS registered.
PARENT MEETING
There will be a Parent Meeting on Monday, September 13 at 5:30
PM. A parent or guardian MUST attend the Parent Meeting to ensure that each participant
has complete paperwork on file for participation.
This is a first-come, first-serve registration. Space is limited and the clinic
will fill FAST!
